Book Review: Escape the Meatrix by Stuart Waldner

What would you do if you woke up one day to find yourself living in some dystopian cult? Dwelling in some Matrix wherein oppression, murder, and profit lingers? What if the upper bodies artificially concoct your diet at the expense of your health and the planet? Would you choose the red pill and break the chain? Or will you stay stagnant despite already knowing all the evidence? How would you respond? Those are just some of the questions presented to us by Stuart Waldner in his debut book ‘Escape the Meatrix: Eat Plants, Feel Great, and Save the Planet!’

Choose the red pill and Escape the Meatrix

‘Escape the Meatrix: Eat Plants, Feel Great, and Save the Planet!’ is an upcoming book by author Stuart Waldner, released on October 11 under Houndstooth Press. It is an environmental, health, and wellness nonfiction book which features personal experience and data supported by research and scientific evidence. Escape the Matrix offers an eye-opening perspective of what the readers can do to help mitigate the consequences of climate change, improve their health and well-being, and challenge the traditional views of eating meals that authorities conditioned to us for the benefit of industries.

Stuart Waldner drew his inspiration for Escape the Meatrix from The Matrix film franchise, which are sci-fi movies set in a dystopian world, wherein each has the responsibility to choose between the artificial world and the natural world. I love how the author draws comparisons from the movies and conveys that we are also living in a Matrix world—which he calls The Meatrix. The Meatrix has led us to believe in the only nutrients we will be getting from animal-based foods, but on the contrary, instead of helping us, eating them leads to over-consumption and addiction.

Opinion

Stuart perfectly wrote a concise and fruitful book that inspires the readers to take the red pill and escape the Meatrix. Stuart himself chose a lifestyle that revolves around eating plant-based foods instead of animal-based. His decision led to some great results in which he became physically fit and an outlier even at his age. Stuart Waldner has cited facts and research on how switching to plant-based food will improve one’s health, help animal welfare, and, most significantly, avert the effects of climate change by lessening carbon emissions.

Overall, Escape the Matrix is a good book that can enlighten you about our choices in life. It is packed with overwhelming scientific evidence which supports how switching to a plant-based lifestyle can be the best thing we can do for our health and to save the planet. More importantly, Stuart sends out the message that even a tiny change can make a huge difference for future generations. What are you waiting for, do your research so you can also have a plant-based lifestyle!
